Job Summary: At the direction of the Lead teacher provide a warm, caring and culturally sensitive environment for children. Participate in classroom activities.
Job responsibilities:
1. Relate sensitively to the individual needs of the children in a patient, consistent manner
2. Help set up activities, equipment, and materials as needed
3. Help serve nutritious snacks and meals
4. Help oversee activities to ensure the safety and well-being of each child
5. Help maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the classroom
6. Assist children with learning good hygiene and toilet habits
7. Work constructively with all staff and maintain flexibility in work area and schedule, as required.
8. Assis classroom staff in record keeping and keep the teacher informed of any information related to the children in the class
9. Perform other duties as required or assigned
Education and Experience:
Must be 16 years or older and have a valid work permit. Experience with children preferred. Meet the NH Early Childhood Professional Development systems qualifications for Level 1 Child Care Assistant. Continue to work on advancing up the ladder.

2. Plan, prepare, coordinate and oversee developmentally and age appropriate activities in coordination with the teaching team
3. Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff, families, children and community partners
4. Maintain an inviting, safe, clean and materials rich learning classroom for children and adults
5. Follow all applicable regulations and procedures regarding the health and safety of children
6. Identify individual professional development needs, seek and participate in opportunities designed to meet these needs
7. Maintain First Aid, CPR, Water Safety and Medical Administration certification
8. Maintain NH Early Childhood Credential certification
9. Protect and respect the confidentiality of children, families, staff and the center at
all times
10. Promote positive and professional image of CCUV in all contacts
11. Perform special projects or other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
Licensing minimum: 18 years of age, H.S. diploma or equivalent, enrolled in or completed Child Growth and Development in a regionally accredited college or university with a written plan to obtain 6 more credits. Experience includes 1000 hours in a licensed facility.
Preferred standard: 18 years of age, 9 ECE credits, (Child Growth and Development,
Health, Safety and Nutrition and curriculum) 1,040 hours (1 half time year) of experience in a licensed facility. All associate teachers will meet or work towards the preferred standard.

Licensing minimum: 21 years of age, H.S. diploma or equivalent, 18 ECE credits and 1000 hours of experience in a licensed facility. There is no designation for lead teacher, the teacher minimums are stated here and in teacher description.
Preferred standard: 21+ years of age, Bachelor’s Degree and 2,080 hours (1 FT year) of experience in a licensed facility. All Lead teachers will meet or work towards the preferred standard.
