Overview
Founded in 1971, The Children’s Center of the Upper Valley provides high quality childcare for working families in the Upper Valley. We care for children from six weeks of age until kindergarten from 6:30am-6pm Monday through Friday in a health promoting, educationally stimulating and safe environment. CCUV focuses on the cognitive, academic, social, emotional, behavioral and physical development of the children in our care. We provide all our children with nutritious meals – breakfast, lunch, and snacks – everyday. We are staffed with well trained, caring childcare professionals, many of whom have been with CCUV for 10+ years. CCUV is fortunate to have a dedicated Board of Directors composed of seasoned professionals with a wide range of expertise.
We are licensed to serve 95 children in our facility in Lebanon, NH. We have five classrooms, each with age appropriate toys and equipment, and almost three acres of playgrounds with a wide variety of equipment including swings, play structures, a pirate ship, and an asphalt track with tricycles. Weather permitting, children play outdoors every day.
CCUV tuition is based on an income sensitive sliding fee scale. Many of our working families qualify for childcare subsidies from the states of Vermont and New Hampshire and we accept these subsidies to help families meet their tuition payments. CCUV’s families represent significant socioeconomic as well as racial and cultural diversity. By offering our income sensitive tuition, CCUV is giving our families any potential margin we could earn. As a result, we are dependent on grant funding in order to balance our operating budget.
Mission
The mission of the Children’s Center of the Upper Valley is to support parents and serve our community by providing quality child care in a secure, healthy environment which promotes growth and learning in all areas of child development.
Vision
Our vision is seeing a community that thrives when its families’ needs are met, and when children develop a lifelong love of learning, fostered by their earliest teachers. We look to continue to grow and serve the Upper Valley region to meet the child care needs of working families. We value children, families and teachers. We provide for their mutual success with a focus on education, care, connections and community.
